Sean O’Connell, CFA Vice President & Portfolio Manager, Real Estate & Structured Credit

As Vice President & Portfolio Manager, Real Estate and Structured Credit, Sean is responsible for all holdings related to commercial real estate, structured credit, alternatives and public equities within the Securian Financial Group related portfolios. The commercial mortgage staff and alternative assets portfolio manager report to Sean. He previously served as the primary backup for the Minnesota Life General Account portfolio manager, led teams responsible for providing all real estate and structured finance research and security recommendations for the General Account, and also oversaw the trading desk. Sean has been in the investment industry since he joined Advantus in 1993.

Sean is a CFA Charterholder, and a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Minnesota.
